Thermal Break Strip Material and Width

Thermal separation uses PA66 polyamide reinforced with 25% glass fibre, rolled into the profile channel and then knurled. Strip width is selected by climate zone rather than by price:

Aluminum Entrance Door Production Process

Extrusion, Cutting and CNC Machining

Billet is heated to 480-520 °C and extruded at 45-55 MPa. Profiles are stretched, aged at 190-200 °C for 3 hours to reach T5 temper, then stored 24 hours before machining. Cutting is done on double-head saws at 45° or 90°, followed by CNC routing for lock cases, hinge pockets and drainage slots. Drainage slots are 5 x 25 mm minimum, staggered so that outer and inner slots are not aligned.

Powder Coating and Anodizing Parameters

A main entrance door wider than 1.2 m on hinges will sag unless the frame is anchored into structural concrete and the hinge count is raised to four with a load rating of 160 kg each. Where the architect insists on a 1.5 m leaf, a top pivot with a concealed floor spring is the correct answer, not more hinges.

Packing and Container Loading

Each leaf is wrapped in EPE foam 5 mm, then pearl cotton, corner protectors on all four corners, and PVC protective film on visible surfaces rated for 6 months UV exposure. Installation and Commissioning

Installation Sequence

  1. Verify opening dimensions and plumb; tolerance for direct frame fixing is ±5 mm, beyond that use packers and cover trim
  2. Set the sub-frame or fix the outer frame with M8 expansion bolts at 400-500 mm centres, minimum 150 mm from each corner
  3. Check frame diagonal within 2 mm before final tightening
  4. For pivot doors, cast or chase the floor spring box, level to ±1 mm, and grout with non-shrink mortar; allow 48 hours cure before hanging the leaf
  5. Hang the leaf, set reveal gap at 3-5 mm uniformly, adjust hinges or spring
  6. Install gaskets, threshold and drainage caps last

Waterproofing Details

Backer rod plus neutral-cure silicone on both interior and exterior perimeter, joint width 8-12 mm and depth 6-8 mm, with a 2:1 width-to-depth ratio. The exterior joint is tooled concave. Where the door sits under a balcony without an overhang, add a 20 mm drip edge and slope the sill 1:100 away from the opening. Do not use acid-cure silicone on powder-coated aluminium; it attacks the coating at the joint edge.

Adjustment and Handover Checks

Handover requires: leaf closes with a single hand under 60 N, lock engages without lifting the leaf, gasket compression visible on all four sides, water spray test at the threshold for 5 minutes with no interior wetting, and closer or floor spring set so the leaf takes 4-6 seconds to travel from 90° to latch.
